EPISODE TRANSCRIPT -- Flood the Zone: Overwhelm Your "Stuckness" By Taking Massive Action

Hey, everybody. Welcome to the podcast. This is Brian Del Turco with Jesus Smart X Podcast. I'm glad you're here.

We have low production value but hopefully very high content value today. There are some equipment issues and software transferability issues going on, so you're not hearing music or effects, but it'll come back. We believe the content is high in this episode, so let me ask you a question.

The Problem: Why We Get Stuck

Have you ever felt like you're waiting for that perfect moment to act or move on something? You're analyzing it—if we're honest, probably over-analyzing it. You're hesitating, overthinking it, maybe even procrastinating. But what if the key to breaking through into that new thing isn't waiting, but taking massive action?

If you're feeling stuck right now, whether it's in work, relationships, your faith, or a personal goal, project, or personal horizon you're pursuing, then this episode is for you.

Today I want to talk about a strategy—it's not original with me, but we can call it Flooding the Zone. When things aren't moving, sometimes the best thing you can do is overwhelm your stuckness with action.

Let's talk about why we get stuck. If you have faith in Christ, you have the resourcing of prayer, faith, and receiving vision from your Heavenly Father. These are tremendous resources that are above the normal. But there are also some very practical dynamics that we need to apply.

Maybe you've been trying to start something—a creative project, a healthier lifestyle, a business. Maybe you're wanting to get married and start a relationship. Or maybe you're facing an opportunity, but doubt is leaching in and uncertainty is holding you back.

One of the reasons we get stuck is that we're waiting for things to align perfectly. But here's the truth—let's just be real and honest about it. Clarity often comes after we start taking action, not before.

So instead of waiting, procrastinating, and getting in a fetal position thinking "it's just not going to happen," what if you just flooded the zone? What if you took so much action that being stuck became impossible?

Have you ever felt overwhelmed? That can often be a sign that the breakthrough is closer than you think. The stuckness and resistance coming at you could be an indicator that your breakthrough is near.

Four Ways to Flood the Zone

If you're a person of faith, you have the resourcing of prayer, reaching out to your Heavenly Father for counsel, and leaning into the Holy Spirit for ideation, solutions, and a lead. But if we can couple that with these practical concepts—if we can supersize them with our relationship with the Lord, with the creativity of the Holy Spirit, with the power of His Word and prayer—you can super-plus these practical steps.

1. Reach Out and Expand Your Network

We're not meant to do life or try to lead something or create something alone. If you're feeling stuck, maybe it's time to widen your circle.

You can get exposed by stepping into spaces that challenge the status quo. You have to disrupt yourself. We can step into spaces that disrupt ourselves and challenge our status quo.

Connect with new people who bring fresh ways of seeing things and fresh ideas into your life. These could be professional relationships or casual relationships. It's very healthy for you—mentally, emotionally, in terms of your perspective—to talk with strangers. Just strike up a conversation.

Engage with mentors or peers who challenge you. Maybe you have old mentors you'd like to breathe some life back into, or maybe you need some new mentors. Different seasons require different guidance. Life evolves and iterates.

Have conversations that spark insight. Don't underestimate the power of talking over coffee—the natural caffeination as well as, more importantly, the mental stimulation, the emotional caffeination, and the new perspectives that can percolate. Sometimes one key relationship changes everything, but you won't find it unless you put yourself out there.

Your relational network should never be static for years upon years. It should be dynamic. There will probably be some pruning, but there will also be growth. Someone says your worth is your net worth or the worth of your network. There's a lot of truth to that.

2. Get Exposed to New Things by Stepping Into New Spaces

We need to read books. Reading is one of the most powerful things you can do. Statistics show if you read the top three books in some area of interest or some space you're trying to grow in, you will be in something like the top three percentile of all people on the planet with expertise in that area. But it just takes the discipline of reading.

Television, doom scrolling, being envious and coveting others by scrolling—all of that will help you zero. But quality books, quality podcasts, quality YouTube videos—maybe you're taking a class, maybe you're in a full-on education program—these will help.

Attend events, attend conferences, or connect with online communities that stretch you. When you attend an event or conference, you're pulling yourself out of your normal space and rhythm, and you're in a totally new space with others who have very similar interests.

I like to think of conferences as conferring with others. If it's a faith conference, I see the conferring as two-dimensional. We're conferring vertically with God together and we're conferring horizontally with each other.

Don't stop being educated. The Latin root of "educate" means "to call forth." Education helps you emerge; it calls you forth. You can be more, you can do more.

Today, there's no reason not to learn. We have access to the internet. Everything is democratized. There are free courses—you could even take free courses from Harvard. There are all kinds of opportunities for education and skill-gathering.

3. Take Massive Action: Progress Over Perfection

A lot of people stay stuck because they're waiting for that perfect plan or perfect time. But real progress comes when you take imperfect action.

Jesus gives us a master class in leading people and getting them to take massive action. He only had them for three and a half years, and he left the most important thing in history with them. He immersed them, taught them, and then immersed them in action. They took massive action and matured quickly.

It doesn't have to be perfect. We're talking about progress, not perfection. Progress will open doors.

Instead of waiting to launch something, start. Get a minimum viable amount of information and resourcing to start something. You don't need a full-blown budget and master plan. Start it. You need something minimal—a vision, a mission, maybe some minimal resources. But just start and then iterate.

Don't overthink it. Commit to taking a step forward today. Trust that momentum will build as you begin to move. I'm on a journey too. I'm learning myself. The Lord seeks to coach me up as well, just as He does you.

Begin and iterate. Begin fast, fail fast, and iterate. Find out what doesn't work through movement and momentum.

You don't need the full picture to take that first step. Did Abraham have the full picture when God called him? No, it says he went out not knowing where he was going. But as he journeyed with God, he learned and progressed.

4. Focus With Intensity

When you want to get unstuck with massive action, focus with intensity. Zero in on what matters. This is about eliminating distractions and taking a deep dive into what truly matters. When you do this, it creates the space for meaningful breakthroughs.

Distraction is the enemy of momentum. If you want to break through, you have to dial in. You've got to focus, you've got to lock in. Go for the signal, not the noise.

Schedule deep time where you can push towards your goals and be ruthless with your attention. One of the greatest commodities on earth today is time. The second greatest currency is attention—what you give your attention to in time. Be ruthless with your attention.

What you focus on magnifies, tends to grow, and positions you for success. As you flood the zone with focused effort and maximum action, things will start to shift.

Moving in Prayer-Born Action

You want to hear the voice of the Lord as much as possible, and you want to move in what I call prayer-born action. Pray about it. If you feel anything in your heart in terms of instinct or desire, begin to lean and move into it. Keep praying, keep moving, keep focusing, and things will start to shift. If it's off a little bit, the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Don't underestimate many small moves compounding over time. We get unstuck by making many small ones that compound over time. Periodically there may be a quantum shift or breakthrough, but it's surrounded by many small action steps that compound.

You can feel the peace of the Lord in your heart. You can feel the affirmation of the Lord. You feel like the Lord's smiling on this, and you draw down the Father's aspirational heart for you.

Your Next Move: Take Action Today

Here are the four tips again:

  1. Reach out and expand your network. Increase your surface area.
  2. Get exposed to new ideas and step into new spaces of learning.
  3. Start taking that massive action. It's progress over perfection. Don't go by emotions—emotions trail massive action. We don't wait until we feel like it. We make a decision, take massive action, and the right feelings start when you're doing the right things.
  4. Focus with intensity. Keep all of this covered in prayer and lean into the Lord. Trust not in your own understanding, but in all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will straighten out and smooth your pathways.

What's your next move? Journal. Successful people journal. Write down your pain points, your aspirations, and what action steps you feel you need to start taking now. As you get ideas and insights, capture them, review them, rehearse them, pray over them.

What one action can you begin to take today to start flooding the zone? Maybe it's reaching out to someone. Maybe it's consuming some new idea. Maybe it's taking a bold step. Or maybe it's just a resolve: "Come hell or high water this week, I'm going to lock in my focus like an astronaut."

Whatever it is, don't wait. Move now.

Speaker A:

Hey, everybody.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the podcast.

Speaker A:

This is Brian Del Turco, Jesus Smart X Podcast.

Speaker A:

I'm glad you're here.

Speaker A:

We have a low production value, but hopefully a very high content value today.

Speaker A:

There's some equipment issues and software transferability issues that's going on.

Speaker A:

And so you're not hearing music, not hearing effects, but it'll come back.

Speaker A:

It's coming.

Speaker A:

But we believe the content is high in this episode.

Speaker A:

And let me ask a question.

Speaker A:

Have you ever felt that you're waiting for that perfect moment to act, to move on something?

Speaker A:

You're like, analyzing it, if we're honest, probably over analyzing it.

Speaker A:

You're hesitating, you're overthinking it.

Speaker A:

Maybe the worst procrastinating.

Speaker A:

But what if that key to breaking through into that new thing isn't waiting, but the key is taking massive action?

Speaker A:

So welcome to the show today.

Speaker A:

My name is Brian Del Turco.

Speaker A:

And if you're feeling stuck right now, whether it's in work or relationships, maybe in your faith itself, which is core or a personal goal, a project, a personal horizon you're pursuing, then this episode is for you.

Speaker A:

Today I want to talk about a strategy.

Speaker A:

It's not original with me, but we can call it Flooding the Zone.

Speaker A:

And the name of the title of the podcast today is Flood the Zone.

Speaker A:

Overwhelm your stuckness with action.

Speaker A:

So flooding the Zone.

Speaker A:

When things aren't moving, sometimes the best thing you can do is overwhelm your stuckness with action.

Speaker A:

So let's get into this.

Speaker A:

Let's talk about the problem, why we get stuck.

Speaker A:

We have the resourcing.

Speaker A:

If you have a faith in Christ, you have the resourcing of prayer, of faith, of receiving vision from your heavenly Father.

Speaker A:

These are tremendous resources that are above the normal.

Speaker A:

But there are also some very practical dynamics that we need to.

Speaker A:

To apply.

Speaker A:

So maybe you've been trying to start something.

Speaker A:

Let's say it's a creative project.

Speaker A:

Oh, maybe it's a healthier lifestyle.

Speaker A:

How many times have we started that or tried to a business?

Speaker A:

Maybe you're wanting to get married and you're starting, you're wanting to start a relationship.

Speaker A:

Or maybe you're facing an opportunity, you know, like a marriage or a relationship, for example, or maybe a new friendship.

Speaker A:

You're facing an opportunity.

Speaker A:

It's not just challenges and pain points.

Speaker A:

It's also aspirations and opportunities that you can get stuck on.

Speaker A:

So you're facing an opportunity, but the doubt is leeching in.

Speaker A:

The uncertainty is holding you back.

Speaker A:

Now, one of the reasons we get stuck is that we're waiting for things to align perfectly.

Speaker A:

But here's the truth.

Speaker A:

Come on, let's just be real and honest about it.

Speaker A:

Clarity often comes after we start taking action, not before.

Speaker A:

Like, young man, if you're thinking about that young lady and you're wondering about the possibility of building a relationship and for her to say yes to a marriage, you're not going to find out until you start moving on it.

Speaker A:

You have to iterate and explore it, right?

Speaker A:

So oftentimes the clarity comes after we start to take action and more action, not before.

Speaker A:

And we can apply this to anything.

Speaker A:

So instead of waiting and waiting and procrastinating and getting in a fetal position.

Speaker A:

Oh, it's just not going to happen.

Speaker A:

Wait.

Speaker A:

What if you just flooded the zone?

Speaker A:

What if you took so much action?

Speaker A:

This is a great question.

Speaker A:

What if you took so much action that being stuck became impossible?

Speaker A:

What if you overcame your stuckness with energy and action?

Speaker A:

So have you ever felt overwhelmed?

Speaker A:

It's a very uncomfortable feeling.

Speaker A:

I'm overwhelmed about something, right.

Speaker A:

I'm in overwhelm.

Speaker A:

Maybe it's because you've been putting something off or feeling unprepared or not having much confidence because you haven't taken any practical steps on that matter.

Speaker A:

But that can often be a sign that the breakthrough is closer than you think.

Speaker A:

The stuckness and the resistance that's coming at you about that could be a sign, it could be an indicator that the breakthrough is closer than you think.

Speaker A:

So let's dive into this.

Speaker A:

Let's talk about four ways that we can flood the zone again.

Speaker A:

If you're a person of faith, if you have faith, you have the resourcing of prayer, of reaching out to your heavenly Father for counsel, of leaning into the Holy Spirit for ideation and solutions, and a lead.

Speaker A:

But if we can couple it, if we can couple that with these practical concepts, and we can take these concepts and super plus them with our relationship with the Lord, with the creativity of the Holy Spirit, with the power of his word and prayer, right?

Speaker A:

With that identity and that security that you get from your Heavenly Father as you cultivate that relationship, you can supersize or super plus these practical steps.

Speaker A:

Here's the first one.

Speaker A:

Reach out and expand your network.

Speaker A:

Reach out and expand your network.

Speaker A:

We're talking about four quick ways to flood the zone.

Speaker A:

I'm not saying these are the only four.

Speaker A:

I'm saying that these are some core ideas.

Speaker A:

And we'll just mention these four.

Speaker A:

Reach out and expand your network.

Speaker A:

I'm not meant to do life or to try to lead something or create something alone.

Speaker A:

And if I'm feeling stuck, maybe it's time for me to widen my circle.

Speaker A:

And so what you can do is you can get exposed.

Speaker A:

You can step into spaces that challenge the status quo.

Speaker A:

You have to disrupt yourself.

Speaker A:

Okay, you're stuck.

Speaker A:

I'm stuck.

Speaker A:

You're procrastinating.

Speaker A:

I'm overanalyzing.

Speaker A:

Whatever.

Speaker A:

We're not moving, but we can step into spaces that disrupt ourselves and challenge our status quo.

Speaker A:

We need to expose ourselves to new ideas, maybe new communities of people, new circles of relationships.

Speaker A:

We need to acquire maybe some new skills, some things that stretch our comfort zone.

Speaker A:

There's more.

Speaker A:

Those aren't the only things, but those are some ideas connect with new people who bring fresh ways of seeing things and fresh ideas into your life.

Speaker A:

These could be professional relationships, maybe casual relationships.

Speaker A:

Do you know, I just saw it again.

Speaker A:

I keep seeing articles on this, that it's very healthy for you, mentally, emotionally, in terms of your perspective, to talk with strangers, to just talk with strangers about something.

Speaker A:

Maybe strike up a conversation with a stranger.

Speaker A:

Not only will it help you socially and emotionally, but there may be an intangible or a fresh way of seeing something.

Speaker A:

Or maybe you can talk about the things you're interested in and help them as well.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

But connecting with new people bring fresh ideas.

Speaker A:

How about engaging with mentors or peers who challenge you?

Speaker A:

Maybe you have old mentors that you would like to breathe some life onto.

Speaker A:

Maybe you need some new mentors.

Speaker A:

Probably do different seasons.

Speaker A:

Life evolves.

Speaker A:

Life iterates.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

People come in and out of our lives.

Speaker A:

You will have friendships and maybe peers that will be lifers who will walk with you through life.

Speaker A:

But you will have many more who come in and come and go in different seasons.

Speaker A:

And the Lord uses that to bring what you need in that season and to develop you and to position you for the next season after that.

Speaker A:

But engaging with mentors and peers who challenge you, having conversations that spark insight.

Speaker A:

Don't underestimate the power of talking over coffee.

Speaker A:

The natural caffeination, as well as, more importantly, the mental stimulation, the emotional caffeination, and the new perspectives that can percolate.

Speaker A:

Sometimes one key relationship changes everything.

Speaker A:

But you won't find it unless you put yourself out there.

Speaker A:

So that's the first tip I would like to mention.

Speaker A:

Reaching out and expanding your network.

Speaker A:

Your network should never be.

Speaker A:

I'm talking about your relational network.

Speaker A:

It should never be static for years upon years.

Speaker A:

It should be dynamic.

Speaker A:

There will probably be some pruning, but there Will also be growth.

Speaker A:

And hopefully what we're looking for is an increased fruitfulness.

Speaker A:

Someone says your worth is your net worth or the worth of your network.

Speaker A:

There's a lot of truth to that.

Speaker A:

So reaching out.

Speaker A:

Okay, here's the second tip.

Speaker A:

Get exposed to new things by stepping into new spaces.

Speaker A:

Okay, we need to read books.

Speaker A:

Reading is one of the most powerful things you can do.

Speaker A:

Do you know that there are statistics that if you read the top three books in some area of interest or some space you're trying to grow in, maybe it's professional, maybe it's just personal, you will be in something like the top 3 percentile of all people in the planet, on the planet with expertise in that area.

Speaker A:

But it just takes the discipline of reading, television, doom scrolling, being envious and coveting others by scrolling, all of that stuff will help you 0.

Speaker A:

There is no help from that.

Speaker A:

But quality books, quality podcast, quality YouTube videos, maybe you're taking a class, maybe you're in a full on education program, maybe you're in a reading group.

Speaker A:

These will help.

Speaker A:

Attending events, attending conferences, or connecting with online communities that stretch us.

Speaker A:

When you attend an event or a conference, the power of it is that you're pulling yourself out of your normal space, your normal rhythm and you're in a totally new space with others who have very similar interests.

Speaker A:

And you're going to hear speakers and meet people and maybe participate in events that are going to be incredibly stimulating.

Speaker A:

I like to think of conferences as conferring with others.

Speaker A:

You hear that word in conference, Conferring with others.

Speaker A:

If it's a faith conference or something that's in the faith space or in the Christ following space, I see the conferring as two dimensional.

Speaker A:

We're conferring vertically with God together and we're conferring horizontally with each other.

Speaker A:

But this idea of exploring different perspectives, even if they challenge your assumptions, and basically you're growing, you're being educated.

Speaker A:

Don't stop.

Speaker A:

Don't stop being educated.

Speaker A:

Do you know the meaning of the English word educate from the Latin root?

Speaker A:

The Latin root means a calling to call forth.

Speaker A:

Education helps you to emerge, it calls you forth.

Speaker A:

You can be more, you can do more.

Speaker A:

And education is key to that.

Speaker A:

So exposure to new ideas can lead to the shift that you, that you've been waiting for.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

So here we go, man.

Speaker A:

Two tips.

Speaker A:

First, one is reach out and expand your relational network.

Speaker A:

Number two is get exposed and step into new spaces through learning new things.

Speaker A:

Educating today, there's no reason not to learn.

Speaker A:

We have access to the Internet.

Speaker A:

Everything is democratized.

Speaker A:

There are free courses.

Speaker A:

Do you know that you could take free courses from Harvard?

Speaker A:

Yes, you can.

Speaker A:

There are free courses that Harvard offers that if you want to take a whack at a course from Harvard, even if you butcher it, but just the joy of trying to go through a course at Harvard.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

I mean, multiple universities and schools have this.

Speaker A:

There are all kinds of opportunities for education and skill gathering skill.

Speaker A:

Okay, Number three, take massive action.

Speaker A:

We're talking about progress over perfection.

Speaker A:

A lot of people stay stuck because they're waiting for that perfect plan.

Speaker A:

You know, they're waiting for that perfect time.

Speaker A:

But real progress comes.

Speaker A:

Listen to this.

Speaker A:

When you take imperfect action, do you think the, the disciples.

Speaker A:

Jesus is a gives us a master class in leading people and getting them to take massive action.

Speaker A:

He only had them for three and a half years and he left like the most important thing in history.

Speaker A:

He left it with them after three and a half years.

Speaker A:

He took these rough people.

Speaker A:

Some say that many of these guys were teenagers.

Speaker A:

I just heard recently that Peter may have been 24, the oldest, and the others may have been teenagers.

Speaker A:

Amazing.

Speaker A:

Of course, everything was earlier back then.

Speaker A:

They didn't have attracted adolescents back then.

Speaker A:

Okay, but he immersed them, he taught them and then he immersed them in action.

Speaker A:

They took massive action.

Speaker A:

He sent them out on missions, he taught them, he immersed them.

Speaker A:

Massive action.

Speaker A:

They accelerated, they grew, they matured quickly.

Speaker A:

Take massive action.

Speaker A:

See, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Speaker A:

Were his disciples perfect?

Speaker A:

Of course not Many times there were case studies in dysfunction and carnality and selfishness and pride.

Speaker A:

You know, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Speaker A:

But we're talking about progress, not perfection.

Speaker A:

Progress, not perfection will open doors.

Speaker A:

It very well can open doors.

Speaker A:

So instead of waiting to launch something, start, get like a minimum viable amount of information and resourcing to start something.

Speaker A:

You don't have to have a full blown federal case budget and a master plan that comes out of the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Speaker A:

To do something, start it, you need something minimal.

Speaker A:

You need a vision, you need a mission.

Speaker A:

You need maybe some minimal resources, some minimum ideas to get started.

Speaker A:

But just start and then iterate.

Speaker A:

Don't overthink it.

Speaker A:

Commit to take a step forward today, even if there's some, some edge that you want to pursue.

Speaker A:

And today I am going to find the best YouTube video I can find on this topic and I'm going to watch it today or I'm going to do some research and find out the top, top book or Two in this space.

Speaker A:

But you need to trust that momentum will build as you begin to move.

Speaker A:

Please.

Speaker A:

Oh, I really should have a mirror that I can pull out from time to time.

Speaker A:

Because listen, I'm on a journey with.

Speaker A:

I'm on a journey too, okay?

Speaker A:

And I'm learning.

Speaker A:

I'm not the learned.

Speaker A:

I'm learning myself.

Speaker A:

And the Lord seeks to coach me up as well, just as he does you.

Speaker A:

But begin and iterate.

Speaker A:

Begin fast, fail fast and iterate.

Speaker A:

Elon Musk will tell you, fail fast and iterate.

Speaker A:

Find out what doesn't work, okay?

Speaker A:

But you do that through movement and momentum.

Speaker A:

You don't need the full picture to take that first step.

Speaker A:

Did Abraham have the full picture when he.

Speaker A:

When God called him?

Speaker A:

No, it says he went out not knowing where he was, where he was going.

Speaker A:

But as he journeyed with God, he learned and he progressed.

Speaker A:

And the Lord developed him through the journey.

Speaker A:

And that's what he'll do with you and me.

Speaker A:

As we're taking massive action, there will be temptations, there will be obstacles.

Speaker A:

We will be coached up how to overcome these things, how to not be distracted, how to stay focused, taking massive action.

Speaker A:

So there's our three tips so far.

Speaker A:

I got a fourth one.

Speaker A:

Number one again, reach out and expand your network.

Speaker A:

You have to increase the surface area of your relationships.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

You have to increase the surface area of your relationships.

Speaker A:

By the way, a little aside here, young man.

Speaker A:

We have statistics today that, you know, marriage is declining and even young women are not wanting to get married and have children.

Speaker A:

And this is just part of the cultural melody that we swim in right now.

Speaker A:

And hopefully in the faith world, those who follow Christ, it's not quite that way, but some of that is leeching into the faith world.

Speaker A:

Look, if you're looking for a quality spouse, my wife and I were talking about this.

Speaker A:

You know, we have daughters that we counsel.

Speaker A:

If you're looking for a quality spouse, here's some of the.

Speaker A:

Pray because God puts these things together.

Speaker A:

I don't want to over make it over mystical.

Speaker A:

I don't want to put a hyper pressure that there's only one soul on the planet and I have to find them.

Speaker A:

And if I don't, I'm not going to have a great marriage.

Speaker A:

It's not like that.

Speaker A:

But you do need to look to the Lord for guidance and then increase your surface area.

Speaker A:

Increase your surface area of potentially meeting that future spouse in pools of people or genres of people, you know.

Speaker A:

So for a Christian, you want to marry in the Lord and so that would include churches.

Speaker A:

And I'm even suggesting you attend two churches.

Speaker A:

I am.

Speaker A:

I've seen it done.

Speaker A:

And for this season in your life, you may want to have one main home church, but you also may want to attend another church.

Speaker A:

I, I, I see nothing wrong with that.

Speaker A:

Meet new people.

Speaker A:

It may be that the person you know, they know someone who knows someone you know.

Speaker A:

Go to conferences, go to events, go to fun events, but just increase the surface area and the opportunity of proximity.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

All the while you're praying and looking to the Lord and trusting him with this process.

Speaker A:

But see, you, you're expanding your surface area.

Speaker A:

Okay, that's just an aside there for number one.

Speaker A:

Number two, just touch on it.

Speaker A:

Step into new spaces through education and learning new things.

Speaker A:

Number three, go ahead and take that massive action.

Speaker A:

Start taking it.

Speaker A:

You can't steer a car unless it's moving.

Speaker A:

Maybe you start taking some action.

Speaker A:

That's not quite accurate.

Speaker A:

It's close, but not well.

Speaker A:

The Lord will guide you.

Speaker A:

You can steer it.

Speaker A:

You can get on the right road.

Speaker A:

Okay, Number four.

Speaker A:

Now focus with intensity.

Speaker A:

Focus with intensity when you want to get unstuck.

Speaker A:

With massive action.

Speaker A:

Focus with intensity.

Speaker A:

Zero in on what matters.

Speaker A:

So this is about eliminating distractions and really taking a deep dive into what truly matters.

Speaker A:

And so the action that you're taking is going to have an intense focus to it.

Speaker A:

And when you do this, it creates the space for meaningful breakthroughs.

Speaker A:

Distraction is the enemy of momentum.

Speaker A:

If you want to break through, you have to dial in.

Speaker A:

You gotta focus, you gotta lock in.

Speaker A:

So you gotta go for the signal and not the noise.

Speaker A:

If you, if you catch what I'm saying here, cut out noise and unnecessary distracting.

Speaker A:

Even think about the word distract.

Speaker A:

What does it mean to take you off track?

Speaker A:

Distract.

Speaker A:

Schedule deep time where you can push towards your goals, whatever they may be, and be ruthless with your attention.

Speaker A:

Do you know one of the greatest commodities on earth today, the greatest currency is time.

Speaker A:

And we may be able to say that the second greatest currency is attention.

Speaker A:

What you give your attention to in, in time.

Speaker A:

And they know in marketing, they know in political science, they know in different domains that attention is a premium.

Speaker A:

And so be ruthless with your attention.

Speaker A:

What you focus on magnifies, tends to magnify and grow and positions you for success.

Speaker A:

So as you flood the zone, flood the zone with focused effort, with max, with, with maximum action, things will start to shift.

Speaker A:

You will feel it all the while you're praying.

Speaker A:

You see, my friend, you want to as much as possible, hear the voice of the Lord, and you want to move in what I call prayer, born action.

Speaker A:

Pray about it.

Speaker A:

You don't have to have an angel talk to you about it.

Speaker A:

You just pray.

Speaker A:

If you feel anything in your heart in terms of instinct or desire, begin to lean and move into it.

Speaker A:

Keep praying, keep moving, keep focusing and things will start to shift.

Speaker A:

If it's off a little bit, the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Speaker A:

Sometimes we don't get, don't, don't make this mistake.

Speaker A:

Sometimes we don't get stuck by making one big move.

Speaker A:

We think, oh, this is not a big move.

Speaker A:

And so don't underestimate many small moves compounding over time.

Speaker A:

We get unstuck by making many small ones that compound over time.

Speaker A:

Periodically there may be a quantum shift or a break.

Speaker A:

What feels like a breakthrough, but it's surrounded before and after and underneath and on top by many small action steps that compound over time.

Speaker A:

And as we flood the zone with action, we can see what begins to shift.

Speaker A:

You can feel the peace of the Lord in your heart.

Speaker A:

You can feel the affirmation of the Lord.

Speaker A:

You feel like the Lord's smiling on this.

Speaker A:

I feel it on the inside.

Speaker A:

It's making me smile.

Speaker A:

And other people around me are starting to smile because they're seeing me smile and they sense that something is shifting and you draw down the fathers aspirational heart for you.

Speaker A:

Okay, there they are.

Speaker A:

The four tips again.

Speaker A:

To recapitulate, to use an old fashioned educational word, reach out and expand your network.

Speaker A:

Increase your surface area.

Speaker A:

Number two, get exposed to new ideas and new new concepts and step into new spaces of learning.

Speaker A:

Number three.

Speaker A:

Yes, go ahead and start taking that massive action.

Speaker A:

It's progress over perfection.

Speaker A:

By the way, don't go by emotions.

Speaker A:

Do you understand that usually emotions trail massive action?

Speaker A:

Emotions are on the coattails of taking massive action.

Speaker A:

So we don't go by feelings.

Speaker A:

We don't wait until we feel like it.

Speaker A:

No, we make a decision.

Speaker A:

We take massive action.

Speaker A:

And the feelings.

Speaker A:

Start the right feelings when you're doing the right things.

Speaker A:

Okay then number four, as you're doing this, focus with intensity.

Speaker A:

Keep all of this covered in prayer and just lean into the Lord.

Speaker A:

Trust not in your own self and your own understanding, as it says in Proverbs 3, but in all of your ways, acknowledge him, which means to know him relationally and intimately in the Hebrew there, and he will straighten out and smooth your pathways.

Speaker A:

What a tremendous promise.

Speaker A:

So that's the challenge.

Speaker A:

Now what's your next move?

Speaker A:

What's my next move?

Speaker A:

Journal.

Speaker A:

Successful people.

Speaker A:

Journal Write down your pain points, write down your aspirations.

Speaker A:

Write down what action steps you feel you need to start taking now.

Speaker A:

As you get ideas and insights, capture them, review it, rehearse it, pray over it.

Speaker A:

Over.

Speaker A:

Open that journal up before the Lord, ask him to bless it.

Speaker A:

What one action can you begin to take today to start flooding the zone?

Speaker A:

Maybe it's reaching out to someone.

Speaker A:

Maybe it's consuming some new idea.

Speaker A:

Maybe.

Speaker A:

Maybe it's taking a bold step.

Speaker A:

Or maybe it's just a resolve and I'm going to lock in my focus and, and, and come hell or come hell or high water this week, I'm going to lock in my focus like an astronaut.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Whatever it is, don't wait.

Speaker A:

Move now.

Speaker A:

If this episode spoke to you, share it with someone that you feel would value it as well.

Speaker A:

And that's what it's all about here at Jesus Smart X.
